Shahid is a Commonwealth scholar and attended one of the United Kingdom?s most prestigious business schools; the Manchester Business School, the University of Manchester, where he obtained a Specialist Master?s degree in Finance and Economics (2006-2008).? At Fourah Bay College, the University of Benin Republic, Shahid studied and obtained a First-Class Bachelor of Economics degree (with Honours) in 2004. He has over 12 years? work experience in the Private, Public and Justice Sectors with expertise in Policy Development, Justice and Public Sector Governance and Business Finance.
Prior to him joining the ECPC Project Committee, as the Resources Coordinator until his ascension to his current role as the Coordinator, Shahid served as the Head of Programmes, Public Sector Reform Unit (PSRU), in the Office of the President, where he was responsible for coordinating and facilitating the implementation of initiatives of Public Sector Reform Programmes. At the PSRU, he also managed a US$ 17 million World Bank funded Pay and Performance Project for Benin Republic, a project geared towards improving competitiveness in pay, performance management and accountability, and increase recruitment of middle and senior staff in Benin Republic?s Civil Service. He has also served as the Group Head, Corporate Banking Division, Guaranty Trust Bank (SL) Limited and also worked at the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) as a Research Officer.
